Changing the Admin URL

Open up the /app/etc/local.xml file, locate the <frontName> tag, and change the ‘admin’ part it to something a lot more random, eg:

<frontName><![CDATA[supersecret-admin-name]]></frontName>

Clear your cache and sessions.
